Have you ever thought about a dual monitor setup? I know the answer is yes. But can you use a laptop display and an external monitor as dual monitors? The answer is yes! In this post, I’m going to explain how you can use an external monitor with your laptop as a dual monitor setup. So, let’s get started 🙂
Prerequisites
To do this, you must have an HDMI cable or a VGA cable. If your laptop supports a VGA port, then you will need a VGA cable. If your laptop supports VGA, the port will look like this:

And the VGA cable required will look like this:

Connection
If you have both items, you need to connect your monitor to one end of the VGA cable. The port on the monitor will look like this:

After connecting to the monitor, you need to connect the other end of the VGA cable to the laptop.Setup:
Now, you need to turn on your monitor. There will be a button located on the back or below the monitor. Just press the button to turn it on. After that, if you are using Windows 10, the monitor will automatically appear in your Display Settings.
