Unity is a Game Development Platform. Using unity, you can develop 2D or 3D Games for Windows, Android, Mac and many more platforms. If you are a graphic designer and also good at c# programming language and want to develop games, then Unity is the right place for you. It is free to download and use for lifetime. But, For Low End PC users, Unity lags too much. So it is very hard to develop games in a laggy environment. That’s why in this post, I am going to solve your problem 🙂
How to fix lag in Unity Game Engine?

Don’t worry, if you are not an Indian or don’t understand Hindi. Now, I am going to explain the 5 Tips in English language, so make sure to read till the end 🙂
Tip 1:- Use Unity Old Version
Now, you guys will say that there are a lot of new features and updates in the latest version of unity, so why should we use Unity old version. So let me tell you that, Unity old versions are compatible for low end PC’s but it’s new versions are not compatible for low end PC’s. That’s why it lags a lot. Therefore, The most important thing to do is to use the old versions of Unity. I am not saying to use the very old versions of unity, but for now you should use the 2018 or 2019 versions of unity. Tip 2:- Only Download and Install Unity Editor
I know that maximum of you always download the unity hub. But I want to tell you that, when you install Unity Hub, then It will install many things, and some of them are never used by you. The only thing which is necessary for any game developer is the Unity Editor and a Source Code Editor. That’s why you should only install Unity Editor in your PC. This is the screenshot of how Unity Editor Looks like.

Now you will say, how can we download the Unity Editor only. It’s too simple, you just have to go the Unity Archive and Select any version and then click on Downloads (Win or Mac) and Select Unity Editor 64 Bit.

Tip 3:- Use Visual Studio Code For Scripting
I know that maximum of you use Visual Studio for Scripting in Unity. But let me tell you that, Visual Studio is a very Heavy Application. It alone takes around 1 GB of RAM. That’s why you should use Visual Studio Code For Scripting in Unity. Visual Studio Code is a very lightweight code with maximum features of Visual Studio like Auto Code Completion, Intellisense, Color Code, etc. You can easily setup VS Code for Unity Scripting by watching any Youtube video. Tip 4:- Close All Other Applications while Using Unity
We all know that Unity is a heavy softwares which takes high resources. That’s why if you want to work smoothly on Unity Engine, then you should Close all Other Applications while Using Unity Engines. That will free up a lot of RAM and you will face much less lag than before.
Tip 5:- Enable Virtualization
First of all, Open Your Task Manager and go to Performance Tab and check if Virtualization is Enabled or not in Your PC.

If it is enabled then do nothing but If it is not, then You have to search on Google that How to enable Virutalization + Your PC SKU. If you don’t know your PC SKU then, Search “System Information” on Windows Search Bar and open the first link.

Then You will see your PC SKU There.

Now you will say that Why Don’t you explained How to enable Virtualization. I don’t explained it because the process is different on Every Computer and Laptops. Therefore, you can search your PC Manufacturer + SKU and see the results on Google.
